Sparkbit's 'verse. Detroit, Sumdac tower. I'm still here.

He stood on the roof and looked down at the city, his blue optics narrowed in a quizzical frown; his very being a question without an answer as he thought of the Autobots and the Decepticons and the battle that they had once waged here on this primitive organic border world.

And what do you think you'd ever say
I won't listen anyway
You don't know me
And I'll never be what you want
Me to be

And what
Do you think you'd understand
I'm a boy, no, I'm a man
You can't take me
And throw me away.

Neither side had understood him. Neither had wanted him there during that battle, deeming him not strong enough; not warrior enough.

All they could see was his tiny frame; his light armor. They never tried looking any deeper.

They didn't know him. They didn't want him.

The bridge had been built, and had fallen. Megatron himself was gone.

The other Decepticons had left in quest of their leader, and the Autobots had, with time, returned to Cybertron as heroes. No one had thought of the little bot they'd left behind.

His dreams had been so big. He could have made such a difference if they'd given him a chance.

All he'd wanted was to belong.

And how can the world want me to change
They're the ones that stay the same
They can't see me
But I'm still here

They can't tell me who to be
'Cause I'm not what they see
Yeah, the world is still sleepin' while I keep on dreaming for me
And their words are just whispers and lies that I'll never believe

Optimus Prime was a ranking member of the Elite Guard now. Bumblebee served under him. Bulkhead was in charge of all of Cybertron's space bridges. And Ratchet was retired on some quiet planet with a pink and white femme that he'd known from before.

They were all gone. Moved on, the same as ever.

And he was still here.

"Sparkbit!"

And you see the things they never see
All you wanted - I could be
Now you know me
And I'm not afraid

And I want to tell you who I am
Can you help me be a man
They can't break me
As long as I know who I am.

He turned, his face lightening from its gloom as his gaze met the big optics of the little silver femme who was running to meet him. She threw her arms around him when she reached him, barely able to reach his waist after his last upgrade, and he scooped her up and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, Kia, I guess you found me."

"Yes." She laughed and snuggled, overjoyed to just be in his company, this last little spark bit that he'd found.

He chuckled and turned away from the view. "Have you had any energy?"

"No. I wanted to wait for you!" Her sweet laughter rose up on the still air.

His hand gently rubbed her back as he headed for the stairs. "Lets go find some, huh? And then maybe you can help me in the workshop?"

"Yes! Yay!"

And how can you say I'll never change
They're the ones that stay the same
I'm the one now
'Cause I'm still here

I'm the one
'Cause I'm still here
I'm still here
I'm still here
I'm still here.
