Sam W's Earth. A couple days later. In the woods near Haldale, Maine.
Sam pulled the Impala to a stop and peered through the darkness at the broken down house on the other side of the wooden gate, feeling the presense of Them plainly. She sat there for a moment, watching for signs of movement, but only saw a fairy gopher bounce across the weed-grown driveway.
"They're all inside." She opened her door and got out, throwing up one last prayer for a quick, clean job.

She gets out of the car and closes the door, then snaps the shotgun up as something goes overhead.
"Bat." She lets it fall and heads for the barb wire fence.
