Dressing room. The energon room. Out of body experience
Optimus started awake, blinking blearily and groaning slightly as he saw that someone had set a chair in him while he was in stasis. "Not... again."
"Need a little help with that, handsome?" asked a familiar teasing female voice.
He sat up, his mouth dropping open as he turned to look toward it. "Blackarachnia? What are you doing here? You didn't...."
"I'm fine." She shrugged and took his hand to pull him away from the chair, then braced her legs and supported him as he wobbled. "I'm in better shape than you are, Autobot. What did you do with my body?"
Optimus shuttered his optics, his head bowing. "I... I'm sorry. It died."
She was silent for a moment, but then brought him over to a corner behind a stack of energon cubes and lowered him gently so that he sat with his back to the wall. "Well, that's one way of dealing with the problem. And a quick and easy way to deal with old baggage, too."
He winced. "I... it's not like that. It was damaged in the fight against Prowl, and weakened by what the new bot had been taking out of it."
He let his head drop, shuddering. "And then it sustained further damage when the new...."
"Spare me the details," she said with disgust. Then her expression softened, and she knelt next to him and gently pushed his chin up so that she could see his face. "You always were a hero, Optimus."
He blinked at her with wary confusion. "I don't know what you want from me now. I... don't have anything to give."
"Maybe I want to give you something."
He frowned skeptically.
"Look," she said crisply. "I don't trust you, or your faction. But that doesn't mean that I hate you. You just went through a lot on my behalf, and I don't think any girl worthy of the name would be immune to that."
This earned her more weary, suspicious blinking from Optimus, so she just sighed and leaned against him, putting her arms around him. "I thought so. I can share energy while we're like this. How does that feel?"
"...Better." He shuttered his optics and leaned his head back. "It's not so hard to think now."
She gently rubbed his chest, then reached down and pulled his arm around her waist as she snuggled a little closer. "Just rest. You're going to be alright."
He sighed and frowned, but then slipped silently back into stasis.
