Truce 'verse. Cureall's apartment. Looking for someone.

One moment the corridor outside Cureall's apartment door is empty.

And the next moment there's a swish and a tall, powerfully built human man is raising his hand to knock, his bright blue eyes creased in a deep frown.

The knock stirs up scolding from within, and the sound of small wings swooping about. He waits to see what else it brings.

The frown escapes slightly as he turns and looks at the monitors. "How does he feel?"

Kigan's mouth twitches at the coo and his feelings lighten, but he's not really any more sure on how to use his body yet than he is on exactly who he is.

"He's...very confused. He isn't hurting, but he doesn't know how to work himself." She climbs up on the bed and rests next to him carefully.

Kigan sighs and tilts his head toward her, feeling like everything's right now. The hand nearest her twitches, automatically seeking contact even though he has no idea about holding hands.

"And I can't touch his mind to see what happened." Charlie shakes his head. "Do you think you'll be able to get time off?"

She hums softly, taking his hand and smiling at her love. "I can try, or reduce my hours."

"I could bring him back to New Haven, if it's too much." Charlie watches as Kigan's optics flicker and darken. "Is he going to sleep?"

He's just resting, experiencing the feelings Cureall's sharing with him, and feeling a bit of the weariness seep away.

"Mm, he is just gathering up energy. Collecting himself?" She smiles sadly.

"This one believes she can handle the situation, but she will need help if he has not learned to walk, he is too big for her in her right mind."

"You'll have the help that you need. And there's a place here in the Nexus that you can stay for awhile, if you don't mind gigantic German castles." Charlie's face shows nothing of the multiple conversations and arrangements that are going on inside his head.

But then it brightens as a faint whisper comes from Kigan.

"Cure?"

The starborn isn't certain what the word means, but he's sure it's important.

She smiles and nods at Kigan, turning to Charlie. "A big place all by ourselves?" She frowns. "It still sounds lonesome even with Kigan and the lizards there."

"Bring someone else along." He reaches up and taps the communicator in his ear. "Amy says she's asking Sludge what he'd think of a little holiday while she helped you."

Cureall smiles and nods. "That would be grand. This one would love that."

"Alright. I'll have it fixed up." Charlie pauses as Kigan makes a small sputtering sound. "What was that?"

That's a surprised feeling. He just bit his lip.
