Z'verse 3. Dalla's garden. Search for Swindle

Blitzwing had never been this frantic before in his life.

Check that.. the Icy persona thought to himself as he appeared in what seemed to be a garden of some sort, I haven't been this frantic since I became a Decepticon. He refused to let either Hothead or Random out at this time, calming himself down. He was doing something, he couldn't be faulted for that.

But why the slag was he getting so worried about that fragging glitch-rat anyway?

Because it's my fault he was taken out of the Dream in the first place, Icy responded to the thought, unsure from which of the three of them it came from. If he hadn't dragged him out with him that one time, Swindle would probably be home, safe, not Spark-Knows-Where.

"These are fine," Hothead says, before he lets Icy resume control. "The young ones were frightened," Icy explained.

Dalla sighs and offers him the bowl of rock, her eyes going to the children with motherly concern. "I can't keep that moron around here. He even aggravates the other men, and blokes usually stick together like glue. His mother can deal with him."

Blitzwing took the bowl with a nod, figuring Dalla was talking about the one that dropped the bowl. He kept silent on that subject, a task made easier by Random taking control with a "Ooooh, pretty!" exclamation of glee, "So many colors!"

As soon as the bowl's out of her hands Dalla hurries over to the boys and gathers them into her arms, crooning softly as they hesitate and then cling to her. "Shhhh, boys. You're safe. You're my babies right now, and you're safe."

So many slight differences in scent, too.

Aaaand the toddler has heard Random, and suddenly forgets his fear to turn and see if the big metal man is going to taste more rock.

Random is absolutely delighted, as he nibbles on one color, then another, and another...

STOP THAT! We all should get a fragging turn! Hothead snarled, at least until Random hit a puce one--and nearly dropped the bowl as he sputtered in disgust.

"Oh, this color does't taste very good..." Random frowned, mostly at Hothead now laughing at him.

"No?" Dalla comes over and frowns at it, then sniffs. "...Sulfur... yuck."

The little ones are just round eyed with wonder and amusement.

Random puts it over to the side, but before he can get another bite, Hothead takes over. He does take one bite before Icy takes control from him, tasting the same not-puce rock. "Taking turns," Icy says with a slight smile.

Even if Random wanted to taste them all first.

Dalla apologizes for giving him something bad-tasting, then nods toward the nearest cushion. "Won't you have a seat?"

"...You can't just share flavors?" wonders the older boy.

Blitzwing thanks Dalla and sits down, then looks at the older child, "No, there are a few things we don't share. Taste is one of them," Icy said with a smile.

"Oh." The little Lu blinks as Dalla also sits down, then snuggles against her as she sets him down so she can focus on giving his baby brother milk from a cup.

Blitzwing is silent after awhile, as the three personas do take turns tasting the rocks. Both Icy and Hothead take Random's word that the puce-sulfur ones taste nasty, however, and don't touch any that remain.

Oddly, after the tasting, Blitzwing seems to be sorting them--and not just the puce into their own side of the bowl. Besides that, he doesn't seem to realize he's doing it.
