Porthos sighed, testing the feel of one of the spare swords he'd been provided to test with. He was, as always, good at picking up the feel of new weapons, but it didn't seem right withought his old sword by his side. He knew every nick and nooks of it, it was as as good as an extension of his own hand.

He sighed, then went back through his drills, striving to improve the new forms Brenda had taught him, and perfect his better moves with a new blade and new trousers, which felt as ridiculous as they looked.

"On the contrary," she said softly, eyes holding his as a blush tinted her cheeks.

Then she looked down at the swords and held them up. "Clark says you can keep whichever one you like."

He gave her hair a slightly longer kiss, then looked down, eyes widdening.

"For what lords were these made?"

She held up the one with the golden hilt. "This was made for Clark by a master smith. This..." She held up the silver one with R in the filgerii of the silver hilt. "Clark made himself."

Almost entranced Porthos picked up the engraved sword, testing it's balance and staring at it as he moved it around.
