Porthos sighed, testing the feel of one of the spare swords he'd been provided to test with. He was, as always, good at picking up the feel of new weapons, but it didn't seem right withought his old sword by his side. He knew every nick and nooks of it, it was as as good as an extension of his own hand.

He sighed, then went back through his drills, striving to improve the new forms Brenda had taught him, and perfect his better moves with a new blade and new trousers, which felt as ridiculous as they looked.

"She my most wonderful womaaaaan," Porthos swung in on the doorframe, dropping to his knees and holding his arms out to her, beaming. "She's my aaaaaaaangel, and she's all miiiiiine!"

"You really need to listen to a different station." Her mouth twitched as Thomas looked at him wonderingly.

"Miiiine," Porthos beamed as the attempt to the high F made his voice break into a high pitched whisper/breath. Then he kissed her cheek, turned swiftly, and attempted to cough his voice back up.

Brenda buried her face in Thomas's short silver tabby fur and started to laugh, the sound ringing out musically as Clark stopped in the doorway and stared at her in surprise.

"My," Porthos coughed again. "My dear..." he finished and gently scooped her and the cat up, nuzzling her. "Oh, my darling, you are more radiant than the stars when you laugh."
