Porthos sighed, testing the feel of one of the spare swords he'd been provided to test with. He was, as always, good at picking up the feel of new weapons, but it didn't seem right withought his old sword by his side. He knew every nick and nooks of it, it was as as good as an extension of his own hand.

He sighed, then went back through his drills, striving to improve the new forms Brenda had taught him, and perfect his better moves with a new blade and new trousers, which felt as ridiculous as they looked.

"I don't care. My head is perfectly clear. Protect you at all costs. Nothing else matters to me," he said seriously, taking both her hands and holding them, eyes showing his resolve.

"Will you do it to please me?" Those icey eyes begged in a way that seemed unfitting as Brenda became only a girl pleading with her beloved.

"I have no pupil but you," he reminded her softly, begging her equeally as strong to be allowed to be her protector.

"But you need a teacher to show you the way of the streets. I don't know that yet. Please?"

"I don't care about the streets," he said, resolve starting to break.

"Yes you do. Because if you don't you'll die," she returned.

"How will I know if you're safe?" he said unhappily.

"Who would I be with, then?"
