John looked at Sam and Zanoah, one brow lifting slightly as he watched the wolf-fae demolish her first softserve icecream cone. He saw Sam's distracted look and reached over to gently touch him on the shoulder. "Son?"

Sam opens his eyes when he hears the purring and blinks. "Cute." No, he's not going to ask her to move. Just no cat claws on his brother's car.

John lowers his head and watches as Zanoah curls a little closer and lays her head on Sam's chest, then closes her eyes with a sigh.

John watches them for a few moments, then lays down on the bench and folds his hands over his chest. He commits the day and its events to God, then settles down to keep guard.
