Sal's Universe, (still) Las Vegas, Nevada. Morning after wedding.

She growled at the sunlight that was peeking through the curtains and hitting her face just-so, and groaned, stretching her arms out and swearing vengeance on the blinds for not doing their job and convincing her that it was still dark outside.

Surely it wasn't the morning already? She felt like she'd just gotten to sleep.

And then she remembered what had happened the evening before and sat up straight, examining her left hand. Yes, the new ring was still there. She saw the remains of the mammoth lobster still sitting on the bedside table.

Okay. I didn't dream all of that. She smiled widely and flopped back down into the (very fluffy, very squishy, and so comfortable it felt illegal) pillows, turning to her left side and smiling at the man who was surveying her with a look of amusement.

"Good morning," she said, propping her head up with her hand as she looked down at Kurt. "I woke ye up, didn' I?"

Sal chuckled, taking a small bite from the sausage. "Yes, b'y, it is, eh?"

Wolfen nodded, turning those bright eyes to Kurt and then looking for Jabez. "Mamma, Vati, tsister." She bounced and had another bite of sausage, then peered around Sal at Vic, who'd taken over the lunch preperation.

"That's right." Sal brushed an errant curl out of Wolfen's face and looked around at Vic.

"Thanks," she said meekly.

"No problem," he rumbled, his eyes on Wolfen as she bounced and smiled and ate her treat. "Y'gonna get 'er some real clothes?"

"Soon enough," she said, smiling down at her exuberant child. "Can't ye let her eat first?"

Wolfen gave a happy little squeak, then looked up at Kurt and patted his cheek when she saw him frowning, giving a wordless croon of encouragement before tipping her head back and looking at Billy as he came over to look at her.

Sal noted Kurt frowning as well. "What's the matter?" she asked.

"Nothing," he said softly, though the catch in his voice and the slight crease between his brows told otherwise.

She just looked at him tenderly. "Ye can tell me now, or ye can tell me later," she whispered.

He nodded, eyes glimmering, but made no other comment other than to pull her close again and cuddle she and Wolfen close.

"How @#$^&@ long were ye gone, b'y?" demanded Billy.

Sal reached out and clocked Billy in the face, the diamond on her wedding band catching him neatly in the lip. "One day," she snapped.
