Backwater. Hormah's Human Safe House. After Vik's Nap.
((continues from here))
In a small, but comfortable living room the noonday light filters gently through a curtain of pale gold hand knitted lace. There are muted sounds from outside as people occasionally walk past chatting with friends or family, and even fainter sounds from the now very busy Question Square. The furniture in the room is simple, but good, and there aren't any knickknacks, only a couple house plants and a blue crochet panel against one wall that has the alphabet on it and a verse of scripture.
The room is very quiet, the only living things in it being a sleeping elderly human woman in the softly vibrating armchair and a tiny green being of living gemstone hunkered on the nearby couch back to watch the sleeper. But the aroma of something rich cooking that is drifting in from the slightly open hall door attests to the fact that someone else is somewhere in the house.

Re: Enter the Bonecracker
Doctor Octavia chuckles, then turns her face toward Vik. "Do you want me to work on you before you eat? Or are you okay with laying on a full tummy?"
Re: Enter the Bonecracker
She carefully pulls off a couple of ripe ones for Doc. Octavia to try. She puts her hand near Octavia's hand so she can feel the fruit in her cupped hand.
"Here ya go, some of the ripe fruit."
Vik sighs, she realizes she's already feeling tired, though she just rested not long ago. It's an irritating habit her body has lately.
As Vik thinks over Dr. Octavia's question, she gets a mental image of a squished toothpaste tube. It makes her mind up rather quickly.
"Before, please? I don't want to push my luck. Meaning, my gut often calls the shots, so let's not irritate da boss please?"
Vik shakes her head ruefully and chuckles. "You know, when i was a teen and young adult, i never imagined I'd have to change so much of my habits and activities because of my health at this stage in life." She chuckles, "But life adapts and rolls on, doesn't it?"
Vik looks admiringly over at Dr. Octavia. She has done exactly that.
