The old ship stood quietly just outside of the small bordertown, listing just ever so slightly to one side. She was still and empty but for the morose brooding of her captain on the bridge and the stealthy lurking of her Reader in her shadow. The rest of the crew was in town, doing whatever missions they had been assigned or assigned themselves.

Then there was a swish and a slight flash in the living room, and a still form settled onto the couch, wrapped in a silken violet cloak. It seemed that someone stood there and looked down at the figure for a moment before the tousled violet hair that half-covered the pale face was stirred slightly and another swish and flash announced the sudden absence of life in the room.

"I bet," Iroh said. "Abby's going to get the doctor for you..." He didn't know what else to say.

-Cold....- Her eyes drift closed.

Mal's face was green as he hobbled inside. "Alright... gimme that thing there. 'N there usedta be tubing stuff in that drawer."

Iroh gave Mal a strange look but fetched the things he indicated.

"Thanks." He set up the machine carefully, then groaned and made his way over to the sink, where he scrubbed up before returning. "Alright now, Vi, this is gonna feel disgustin', but ya need the help."

-Alright,- came her faint reply in Iroh's mind.

He nodded blankly and then looked at Mal. "Go ahead," he said.

"Uh huh," he said absently, then opened Vi's shirt and got the heart monitor stickies stuck on and hooked up, frowning as he coached himself on the proper procedure for inserting a breathing tube.

And Iroh just watched with wide eyes.

The tube was carefully inserted, then hooked properly to the machine, and Mal stepped back to survey his handiwork before pointing to another cupboard. "Gimme one'a those bags thats says 'saline solution'."

Iroh rooted through the bags of intravenous material, and was pleased to discover that despite the fact that this place was extremely new to him, he could read.

He picked up one of the bags and handed it to Mal.

"Thanks." He set it up, growling softly as he had a hard time getting the needle into her vein. "Really wanna know what she ran inta."

"I'm... I'm not sure," he said.
