Joy woke slowly, stretching before she opened her eyes and then stopping short as she realized that things didn't sound, feel, or even smell right.

Jerking to a sitting position, she looked around with dismay to find herself in a tiny, comfortably furnished room, tucked into a pile of cushions and sheets on a broad windowseat that overlooked a patch of semi-tropical undergrowth.

The gentle beauty of the place was lost on her as she tossed the bedding aside and leaped toward the door. "Kurt??"

"I vill make sure to find us both von," he nodded solemnly, adding it to his mental list of to dos.

She ate carefully but quickly, then got her plate and stood, only to stop with her ears back in a puzzled frown. "There isnae any sink."

"Leave zem, I vill find a vay to vash zem later," he murmured, having teleported behidn her and leaned against her, taking her dish carefully and putting it with his own.

She turned her head to look at him, black eyes twinkling, then blinked as something heavy hit the tin roof and rolled down the side to hit the ground with a thump.

Kurt started, arms tightening around his love for a moment before he stopped.

"Stay here," he said, quickly going outside to look around.
