Joy woke slowly, stretching before she opened her eyes and then stopping short as she realized that things didn't sound, feel, or even smell right.

Jerking to a sitting position, she looked around with dismay to find herself in a tiny, comfortably furnished room, tucked into a pile of cushions and sheets on a broad windowseat that overlooked a patch of semi-tropical undergrowth.

The gentle beauty of the place was lost on her as she tossed the bedding aside and leaped toward the door. "Kurt??"

"Ja, you can have as many as you vant... for a kiss," he grinned, sticking out his cheek while his tail wrapped around the nut.

She chuckled and poked him in the ribs instead.

He yelped, then help up his hands.

"Alright," he laughed, then handed it over, bamfed to right behind her, gave her a kiss, then bamfed away again to the top of the coconut tree.

She laughed and bounded after him, landing on the roof and holding her place with one wing. "Och." She paused to look around. "There's anither roof avays over there, 'n vhat looks t' be a toon beyond 'er."

"Ja," he said, looking thoughtfully. "I'll go... perhaps you should stay, und rest?"

That earned him an ears back look. "I'll do nae sich thing. Dinnae fergit which 'o us is the bullet proof vone, Leibe."

"Or ze von who vas near death," he asked softly, mostly to himself.

"I'm sorry," he looked at her. "I'm just a worry vart, I suppose."

"Och." Joy winced. "Kurti, kin ye nae see? As long as ve're t'gither. As long as I ken ve'll nae be takin' fr'm one o'nither, I'll be fine. Och." She lowered her face in shame. "I vas a fool tae act the vay I did, but it felt like betrayin' ye tae eat or be happy there."

He teleported over to her, wrapping his arms around her, looking at her seriously and lovingly.

"Liebe, vatever happens to me, if ever ve are parted... I vorry for you. It vould do my heart good to know zat nonezeless you are taking care of yourself, und healthy, und safe. Please, liebe, promice me only zat, else ze next time ve are parted I could vaste avay myself for vorry."
