Joy woke slowly, stretching before she opened her eyes and then stopping short as she realized that things didn't sound, feel, or even smell right.

Jerking to a sitting position, she looked around with dismay to find herself in a tiny, comfortably furnished room, tucked into a pile of cushions and sheets on a broad windowseat that overlooked a patch of semi-tropical undergrowth.

The gentle beauty of the place was lost on her as she tossed the bedding aside and leaped toward the door. "Kurt??"

"Ah," he said, nodding thoughtfully. "Is all of ze vorld zis accepting of mutants?"

Keanu was confused by the question. "What?"

"Mutants, like me und Joy," he said. "Humans accept zem here?"

He blinked, then sighed slightly. "You must forgive our ignornce. Ve are... from very far avay, you see, ja?"

"They are human," said Keanu slowly. "Why shouldn't people accept them?"

Kurt blinked, then turned and grabbed Joy, giving her a firm chaste kiss, then grinned.

"Zank you," he said, shaking the man's hand again. "Zank you so much!"

"Um...." He quirked his eyebrows, feeling even more confused. "You're welcome."

Joy's mouth was turned up in her slight grin that only showed in special cases as her ears twitched and her eyes crinkled at the corners. Her wings were half-furled and rustling slightly in response to his excitement.

He grinned.

"Alright... now all ve need to do is talk to Miss Hanna, und sort a few more things out," he said, squeezing Joy's hand.

"Ja," she said softly, then added her thanks to Keanu, who seemed a little glad when Dano wiped out and needed to be rescued.

"Good day," Kurt said, nodding his farewell and taking Joy's hand again. "Let's away, mien liebe," he murmured, looking truly happy for the first time in weeks.
