Joy woke slowly, stretching before she opened her eyes and then stopping short as she realized that things didn't sound, feel, or even smell right.

Jerking to a sitting position, she looked around with dismay to find herself in a tiny, comfortably furnished room, tucked into a pile of cushions and sheets on a broad windowseat that overlooked a patch of semi-tropical undergrowth.

The gentle beauty of the place was lost on her as she tossed the bedding aside and leaped toward the door. "Kurt??"

He blinked, then gave a whoop and teleported them twenty feet over the deep, stealing another kiss as they fell.

And she laughed out loud and wrapped him in her wings against the impact, then spread them and buoyed them them to the surface, her eyes closed as she enjoyed the feel of the sun on her face.
