Vanya blinked rapidly as she materialized on the very sunny, very hot, and very nice island of Hawaii. The rolled-up contract was still clutched in her hands and she smiled slightly to herself.

It was amusing how she was getting involved in silly human ceremonies.

And, she admitted, it was very nice of Joy and Kurt to have invited her. The sun was hot enough that she took off her long red coat, revealing a smart black,sleeveless dress underneath. Lately the daylight had been not just bearable, but enjoyable.

It was good, she mused, that she'd actually get to take part in her friends' special day.

She looked around for the other Kurt and his loudmouth wife (who seemed to have mellowed out lately, except for when the men of her house decided to talk about her underwear selections). They shouldn't have arrived too far from where she was.

"I know," he said softly, giving her a smile that showed more of sadness than the emotion it was designed to portray. "I've just met a lot of people lately who do."

"Why don't you just shoot them back?" She looked absolutely horrified that he wouldn't.

Then she coughed. "Anyway... that's not what today is about."

"Ja. Enough talk of evilties, I vouldn't haff you lovely ladies think of it," he said, queezing Joy's hand comfortingly.

She glanced at him and kissed his hand, then got to her feet. "I'd best be gittin' changed. Dinnae vanna marry in these auld rags."

Kurt just shook his head at Vanya's words, then looked to his alternate, asking wordlessly if he had getting ready to do as well.

Sal tilted her head. "Would you like any help?" she asked Joy.

"Ach, ja, und I as vell. See you in a vhile, mien liebe," he smiled charmingly, then glanced to his alternate and the two visiting women. "Help yourselves to anyzing," he said.

"Oh don't worry," Vanya said airily, "I will..."

And she started on her second cup of coffee.

"Nae, I'm gut," said Joy, but then popped out of the bedroom a moment later with wide eyes. "Ach! I dinnae how it e'n got here, let alone how tae wear the brute!"

Kurt blinked, then looked to his wife.

Sal smiled. "C'mon, an' I'll help ye out," she said, rising to her feet and heading toward Joy's room. "This is one of them things I ain't completely useless fer."

Kurt chuckled, then teleported off to his room to fix himself up.
