Vanya blinked rapidly as she materialized on the very sunny, very hot, and very nice island of Hawaii. The rolled-up contract was still clutched in her hands and she smiled slightly to herself.

It was amusing how she was getting involved in silly human ceremonies.

And, she admitted, it was very nice of Joy and Kurt to have invited her. The sun was hot enough that she took off her long red coat, revealing a smart black,sleeveless dress underneath. Lately the daylight had been not just bearable, but enjoyable.

It was good, she mused, that she'd actually get to take part in her friends' special day.

She looked around for the other Kurt and his loudmouth wife (who seemed to have mellowed out lately, except for when the men of her house decided to talk about her underwear selections). They shouldn't have arrived too far from where she was.

"I'm just in it fer the fact that I ain't freezin," Sal said, shrugging. "Just t' be honest wit' ye."

"Banish zose of your dress, you're glorious,' he said softly, then lead her out, and into the water, glancing at his friends. "I'm sure zere are places around for rent also, zis is a very friendly vorld."

Vanya caught sight of the couple and waved merrily.

"So, Padre," she said offhandedly to Kurt-the-preacher, "are you good at doing this sort of thing without much notice?" She paused. "Funny that I didn't actually ask you that before..."

Kurt sputtered with laughter at his wife's words, then looked around at Vanya with a smile. "Remind me to show you the album for our vedding."

Joy watched as the low waves played with the hem of her dress, then looked toward the pastor and his wife, waiting.

Sal laughed and whispered, "If that wasn't a quick job, I dunno what was."

Then she caught sight of the couple and straightened, falling quiet.

Kurt smiled at the others.

"Ve are ready," he said softly, hand squeazing Joy's gently.
