66Winchesters 'verse. Middle of no where. Roadside diner.

She hit the ground hard and tumbled, then lay there and caught her breath for a moment before turning over and using the vehicle that she'd landed next to to pull herself to her feet. The movement nearly made her throw up, but not having anything in her stomach saved her that indignity and she settled for just leaning against the machine, the long sleeves of her ripped and dirty gown swaying in the breeze.

Hey, Sam and Dean, there's a strange woman hanging on your car.

"Well he's nae need tae worry." She curled on her side and nearly vanished under the blanket except for that long black hair. "I am hoosetrained."

"But don't speak right" Dean muttered.

"Huh?" dean asked "Ok repeat that slowly in plain speak got it?"

She gave a soft snort and fell silent.

Sam slapped the back of deans head.

Jaime listened in silence as the car pulled up at the fast food place, unmoving but for the slow trickle of tears down her grimy face under the blanket.

Sam placed the order of plenty of food. He handed some back to Jaime "Should like that, it's......yum" he grinned "My favourite in fact"

She sniffed at the smell coming from the bag that he handed her, then lifted her head and looked through the window as the car was parked in the shade. "Thank ye, Sammy."

Dean sighed "No eating in the car..... out" he said.
Sam smirked "Only dean's allowed to eat in there"

Soft muttering came from the bag seat as she figured out how to work everything to get out, but the only word that came through clearly was, "Booby."

Sam smiled getting out to help her "You ok?" he asked her

She looked at him with confusion for a moment, but then remembered what 'okay' meant and nodded. "Aye, I will be. Thank ye kindly, Sammy."

Dean snorted mumbling something obnoxious under his breath.

Jaime flushed and turned her face away, the hand holding the bag of food drooping as she closed her eyes to try and keep in the tears. "I will nae trouble ye nae maur. If ye could just tell me where I am 'n where's a good place tae be?"

Sam smiled "don't be silly, you'll stay with us, just ignore him........recent widow"

"Ach!" She looked up with sudden sympathy, but then froze and looked toward the edge of the parking lot.

"you ok?" Sam asked.
"Shes trouble" Dean suggested.

"What in the...." She absently handed Sam the bag of food, eyes still trained on whatever the heck that glowing shape was.

"Hmm?"

"There's somethin' over there gi'in' us the evil eye." She growled inadvertently as the thing seemed to morph and stretch for a moment.

Dean got up getting out his gun.

Then she turned her head as her neck prickled and snarled aloud at sight of the thing that was right behind the older brother. She responded without thinking, knocking him aside and shoulder-slamming the thing just as it materialized.

Dean scowled "HEY!" he snapped, going to shoot at it hoping not to catch her.

Jaime yelped as contact with the thing seemed to spread cold numbness through her body, then hit the ground. She twitched at the sound of the gun going off, but then went still as blackness overcame her senses.

The thing, meanwhile, went splatty. But now its friend over by the road was invisible and heading their way, and a freaked out girl at the Micky D's was phoning 911 about the weirdo out in the parking lot shooting off a gun.
