Jay-Jay smiled as she walked out of the resturaunt she waitressed in, folding her apron and looking around, stretching and making her way down the road, spotting her husband in his usual place in the foodcourt. Children hung off him as he dozed, AJ held close and Isha not currently in sight. A sign with a collection pail beneathe it hanging near him read "Kiddie care, $5 an hour".

She smiled fondly, going over and hunkering down next to him, giving him a kiss.

"Hey, babe. Good day?" she asked. He rumbled and looked up at her, eyes twinkling as he slowly rolled over, sending the children climbing on him scattering and laughing as he displayed AJ, who Jay-Jay kissed. "Where's Isha?"

"Yes," whispered Isha, unconsciously worried about waking the sleeping doll whose face her eyes never left.

"Would you like to give her a bottle?" asked the lady, offering a doll bottle.

Isha looked at it, then nodded and gently poked it into the furry toy's mouth, then quirked a startled grin as the doll made the sound of a sigh and then contented baby drinking sounds.

"This is the one you want? Or do you want to look at others before deciding?" Jay-Jay whispered back, stroking Isha's hair.

"Her." Isha's voice was still soft as she held the doll closer and lowered her head to rub her cheek against its bonnet.

Jay-Jay smiled and looked up at the woman.

"How much?" she asked, going to the counter.

"Twenty five dollars," she said softly, taking her place behind the counter and pressing buttons on the register before holding out the scanner. Then she looked at Isha and the doll again and smiled. "She'll purr if you keep her warm long enough."

"That's amazing," Jay-Jay grinned, swiping her watch, then spotting a small bowl of stars. "Are those those things I've heard so much about?"

"The living rocks? Yes. My friend has one that spread six ways and asked me to find homes for some of the little ones." Then she looked at Isha and smiled as the little girl plunked down on her bottom and started to sing softly.

Jay-Jay smiled fondly at her heart daughter, then looked again at the stars.

"I have a tiny son... are they good for kids?" Jay-Jay asked, looking up. "More specifically ones stuck to their overprotective, feral fathers?"

"Does he put things in his mouth?" She poked at the pet rocks. "I'd hate to think of one of these winding up in someone's belly."

"If I tell John to keep it out it will stay out," she promised solemnly. "How do you take care of them?"

"Let them sit on something eatable every morning. And don't leave them laying around or they'll try to crawl off." Her mouth twitched. "Not that they ever get very far, but still."

"Are... are they lovable? I've heard they sing, but I need something cudly and durable. AJ's not too active now, but he might be later," she said. "And I sure don't want to him him somethng living that would be too much for him, or too little."

"The people who own then say that they're very endearing. And most of them live in pockets and occasionally go through the cleaner, so they're sturdy." She flipped one over thoughtfully. "How old is AJ?"

"Um, not very. We're not exactly sure where his mental state stands," she said softly. "He's as old as Isha, but... different."
