New Haven: Family

Jay-Jay smiled as she walked out of the resturaunt she waitressed in, folding her apron and looking around, stretching and making her way down the road, spotting her husband in his usual place in the foodcourt. Children hung off him as he dozed, AJ held close and Isha not currently in sight. A sign with a collection pail beneathe it hanging near him read "Kiddie care, $5 an hour".

She smiled fondly, going over and hunkering down next to him, giving him a kiss.

"Hey, babe. Good day?" she asked. He rumbled and looked up at her, eyes twinkling as he slowly rolled over, sending the children climbing on him scattering and laughing as he displayed AJ, who Jay-Jay kissed. "Where's Isha?"

"Sure, why not. I've got to grab some supper." Uzulee looked at Isha and thought to herself that it felt good to no longer be the only Beast. "How old is she?"

"Around two?" she shrugged. "Mentally. She was grown in a lab, so the first part of her life was accelerated."

"Oiii." Uzulee scowled slightly as Desdemona stirred on her shoulder. "She's okay otherwise?"

"She's fine," Jay-Jay nuzzled her affectionatly. "Her brother... has some problems. But now that he's with John he's better."

"The little grey guy that looks like Hank did." The shorter girl reached up to absently let Desdemona hold onto her finger.

"Yes," she said softly, then smiled slightly. "Not that youcan see him much. John keeps him pretty close."

Uzulee chuckled. "So he wouldn't mind me, you think? I'd like to get to know your family... they're sort of mine too. And it's sweet to not be the only Beast anymore."

It was the second time she'd mentioned being a Beast, but she looked perfectly normal. Even her hands and feet did.

"It'd be wonderful," Jay-Jay smiled, though she tilted her head. "You're not that feral looking or smelling, though, if you don't mind me saying so."

Another chuckle and a blur, and suddenly a petite blue feminine version of the original Beast stood looking at her with Uzulee's eyes.

"Whoa," her eyebrows shot up. Then she blinked.

"Oooh, an image inducer," she said, realizing her mistake and smirking.
