New Haven: Family

Jay-Jay smiled as she walked out of the resturaunt she waitressed in, folding her apron and looking around, stretching and making her way down the road, spotting her husband in his usual place in the foodcourt. Children hung off him as he dozed, AJ held close and Isha not currently in sight. A sign with a collection pail beneathe it hanging near him read "Kiddie care, $5 an hour".

She smiled fondly, going over and hunkering down next to him, giving him a kiss.

"Hey, babe. Good day?" she asked. He rumbled and looked up at her, eyes twinkling as he slowly rolled over, sending the children climbing on him scattering and laughing as he displayed AJ, who Jay-Jay kissed. "Where's Isha?"

"I don't have any, no," she blushed, then offered her watch. "But here, could you bring me a soda?"

"I'm buying." The other girl chuckled and leaped to her feet Hanklike, then headed for the place with the pink stuff in the drink fountain. Grapefruitade was her favorite.

Jay-Jay blinked, then smiled and stroked John's forehead.

Uzulee soon returned with three large deposit cups and handed one to Jay-Jay, then gently socked John on the shoulder with another.

"Grapefruit okay?"

The rumble increased to a soft growl, then fell back to a purr. Jay-Jay smiled.

"He won't react now. He just told you he's not interested," she said, sighing.

Uzulee set the unwanted drink down, but then leaned on her kinsman's shoulder to look at his face. "Are you going to come see the babies?"

He didn't stir in the slightest sense, and Jay-Jay bowed her head.

"I'm sorry," she said softly, nudging his shoulder in annoyance but also finding herself ignored. She sighed, then tried to smile. "So you... you work for the Mayor," she said.
