Jay-Jay smiled as she walked out of the resturaunt she waitressed in, folding her apron and looking around, stretching and making her way down the road, spotting her husband in his usual place in the foodcourt. Children hung off him as he dozed, AJ held close and Isha not currently in sight. A sign with a collection pail beneathe it hanging near him read "Kiddie care, $5 an hour".

She smiled fondly, going over and hunkering down next to him, giving him a kiss.

"Hey, babe. Good day?" she asked. He rumbled and looked up at her, eyes twinkling as he slowly rolled over, sending the children climbing on him scattering and laughing as he displayed AJ, who Jay-Jay kissed. "Where's Isha?"

"I work with him." She frowned thoughtfully at John, totally undaunted by his indifference.

"Really? What do you do?" she asked, desperate to detract attention from her husband's rudeness.

"Make sure the city's in repair, enforce laws, play sidekick." She scratched John's back right between his shoulder blades, in the spot that always left her laying on the floor when she was in cat form and someone scratched it.

The purr increased deeply, but he only shrugged at her.

"That's neat. So you're a Junior Mayor or something?" she said.

"Deputy mayor." She chuckled, then told John. "I'm going to keep bugging you till you wake up. And it would be good for your babies to meet other babies they're related to."

There was a sigh, and he burried his head. Jay-Jay shook her head.

"You were just told," she laughed softly.

"My brother has fresh homemade twinkies and moonpies."

Isha twitched and turned her head to look up with bright, interested eyes.

"Hey baby," she smiled, then crawled up and sat on the back of John's neck, leaning down and whispering in his ear.

There was a pause, then the giant man rumbled and sat up, arms full and Jay-Jay leaning forward to keep her balance.

Uzulee grinned at him cheekily. "Interested? He's got all sorts of other goodies too. There are these crispy sweet, slightly greasy things that are just...." Her smile told the rest.

He blinked, then reached up, pulling Jay-Jay off and holding her with Isha.

"I think he's ready to go," Jay-Jay giggled.

The young DM chuckled and hopped to her feet, turning back toward the hall of shops and starting slightly as Desdemona wriggled free and leaped to her back. "Eek! Don't do that."

John arched and eyebrow, but followed the small girl easily.

She led them along a ways up the corridor, past shops with dolls that made Isha's eyes go round with wonder and clutch her purring 'baby' close. As she went she called her brother and told him to let she and her guests in through the bakery door.

Then she looked over her shoulder. "I hear a star singing."

"AJ has it," said Isha absently.

"Yeah. We're hoping it'll help him," Jay-Jay smiled, then tapped John to let her down. He complied, and she went. "This place smells delicious!"
