New Haven: Family

Jay-Jay smiled as she walked out of the resturaunt she waitressed in, folding her apron and looking around, stretching and making her way down the road, spotting her husband in his usual place in the foodcourt. Children hung off him as he dozed, AJ held close and Isha not currently in sight. A sign with a collection pail beneathe it hanging near him read "Kiddie care, $5 an hour".

She smiled fondly, going over and hunkering down next to him, giving him a kiss.

"Hey, babe. Good day?" she asked. He rumbled and looked up at her, eyes twinkling as he slowly rolled over, sending the children climbing on him scattering and laughing as he displayed AJ, who Jay-Jay kissed. "Where's Isha?"

A flurry of movement went among the little ones as they suddenly scattered in all directions and came back, kicking like frogs and grinning as only little babies could.

"Do you want to play with them?" asked Uzulee. "Just wash your hands and go ahead."

Isha looked at her hands, then set her baby down and looked at her mama.

"Here, baby, let me help you," she smiled, taking her to the sink and helping her scrub her fuzzy hands clean before taking her to the tank.

Both little fuzzy black hands went into the water at once, and the little swimmers came to snuggle and hold hands and make bubbles and grin. Isha grinned too, her deep blue eyes lit like stars.

Uzulee watched the babies play for several minutes as Rita offered John and Jay-Jay a drink of juice and some pastry.

Then she looked at her watch and sighed reluctantly. "I have paperwork to do."

Jay-Jay lowered the juice and frowned thoughtfully.

"Yeah. We should get the kids home too," she said, thinking.

"Not sleepy yet." Isha yawned hugely. AJ had fallen asleep several moments ago.

Jay-Jay handed her the doll she'd scooped up, smiling. "She's fine, sweetheart. But I know she'll wanna sleep with her mama pretty soon."

Rita came and hunkered by the tank, causing widespread excitement and glee among her children.
