Gargoyles' reality. Manhattan General Hospital. Intensive care ward.
Goliath sighed as he walked through the door and found himself and his alternate in the hospital cafeteria. "I meant to get something to eat, but I'd forgotten."
A young nurse came up behind them and gently poked gargoyle Goliath in the wing. "Excuse me, please. I need coffee NOW."

"You vanished! Like, poof, gone!" The sandy-haired boy was shaking slightly. "I'd just ben going to tell Elisa."
The former gargoyle sighed and put a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I was not gone long, then?"
"No... no, not really." Ryan slumped, but then started and stared at gargoyle Goliath.
"This is my alternate, Goliath," rumbled Goliath, then turned to his twin. "And this is Ryan, Claw's adopted son."
"Hey, man." The boy extended his hand without thinking to offer a high five, but then blushed and withdrew it.

"A pleasure," he said.

Goliath put a gentle hand to the back of his neck and turned to look at the food options before walking over and picking up a couple random sandwiches and grabbing and draining a lukewarm cup of coffee before getting himself another and going to the till.
"So... you're still purple," said Ryan awkwardly, looking up at the gargoyle.

Goliath watched him go with clenched jaw, then turned to his twin. "Do you wish anything?"

Such a strange thing, a human counterpart to himself. Almost as perplexing, he imagined, as Elisa was to some of the variants upon their world they had encountered. Could he have endured as this version of himself had, as Elisa had? Suddenly thrust into a whole new type of existence, with new limitations, new experiences... He was not so certain he was that strong.

"What is it?" He strode out of the elevator.
His clone sighed, brightening slightly for a moment before looking ashamed. "Father! Hudson said to go with you, but you were already gone, and I didn't know where to find you."
The relief nearly made Golath fall over. He leaned against the wall and took deep breaths.

He too exited the elevator, but chose not to speak in this semi-private moment.
