Goliath sighed as he walked through the door and found himself and his alternate in the hospital cafeteria. "I meant to get something to eat, but I'd forgotten."

A young nurse came up behind them and gently poked gargoyle Goliath in the wing. "Excuse me, please. I need coffee NOW."

"It was like watchin' 'General Hospital'." The older gargoyle actually managed a smile.

"So I have been told. Our own circumstances forced this into being much earlier than other worlds... But I remain pleased to know that ours was not the only world where matters worked out positively."

"What year's it where yer at?" Hudson absently rubbed his back against the wall and sighed absently.

"It is currently 1996."

Hudson blinked. "Yer about six years behind of us."

Lucy started at a soft beep and stood up with a sigh. "I'll be back as quick as I can."

"No hurry, lass," said Hudson gently. "Do yer work."

She shook her head at him, then bent and kissed him on the cheek before flashing Goliath a grin and vanishing.

"Quite the difference," Goliath said. Not quite as bad as the eleven years that seemed to separate their world from many out there, but a large difference all the same.

"And you have accomplished so much in that time."
