Helena was beginning to get depressed.  She'd tried--several times--to get home, all without success.  She was already missing her teammates--not to mention hoping to God that they weren't going out of their mind with worry about her.  And frankly, this Gotham was too different, too strange, too far ahead of her own for her to ever be comfortable here.

"I just want to go home," she muttered.  "Or to do something useful... Why the heck am I even here?"

"Eh... probably not the best idea. I'm pretty sure my landlord would throw a fit."

"Ah, landlords." Prudence made it sound like she was saying, "Ah, heathens."

"Well, technically, in the long run that's me. Goes through a dummy corporation or two, but I actually own the building my aparment's in. But I don't think my world's quite ready for an intelligent feline."

Prudence inclined her head to show that she conceded the point, then turned and looked at Thomas. He looked back alertly, then pulled away from the dogs with a couple well-placed swats and bounded away.

"Heh. Reminds me of how some of cats we had when I was growing up would only really listen to Mom."
