Helena was beginning to get depressed.  She'd tried--several times--to get home, all without success.  She was already missing her teammates--not to mention hoping to God that they weren't going out of their mind with worry about her.  And frankly, this Gotham was too different, too strange, too far ahead of her own for her to ever be comfortable here.

"I just want to go home," she muttered.  "Or to do something useful... Why the heck am I even here?"

How lonely you must be, Pru. Living that long, seeing everyone around you die...

Helena shook her head and smiled. "That's good."

Prudence smiled and settled her hat, then walked in silence for a moment before saying softly. "I'm glad that you were brought to us, Miss Helena."

She wasn't a demonstrative woman, and the simple words spoke volumes.

The significance was not lost of her. "I'm glad I could be here, Prudence."

Another smile as they passed into the sleeping memories of the house. "What do you think of hummus?"

"Mmmm. Haven't had that in a while."

"Then I shall prepare it." She turned toward the pantry, mind going to what she would need.

Helena sat down in one the of kitchen chairs.

Hope I'm doing some good here. Can't help but wonder whether I'm doing more good or bad with Prudence, reminding her of everything that's passed.
