Patchverse: New room

Jubilee walked to and fro, staring at her newly refurbished, very pink, very comfortable room.

Her face portrayed how much these objects meant to her, and she couldn't stop exploring her room, holding the Pikachu plushie while she did, happily touching things. She paused when she sensed something tiny nearby, and got down on her hands and knees.

She peeked under the bed, then giggled when she saw a small brown mouse exploring the cavern.

"Hi there," she said, reaching a hand out to it. The mouse stirred, then turned and peered at her, and she grinned.

"Yes, though... tis hard to tell which reality you come from, and your scent doesn't change with your mood."

Then he sniffed and looked at the bed. "I smell a mouse."

"That's Arnold. I'm training him to behave, don't worry," she smiled. "I'm from a different reality, yeah. And I guess I'll have to work on the mood thing. Wolvie's helping me identify emotions as I learn them."

"Is he then? A worthy task... excuse me."

He turned and went upstairs quickly.

She blinked and frowned, then turned towards where she could sense her adopted mother was. "I'm being left in the dark, aren't I?"

A slight breeze moved and then Tikvah's hand rested on her shoulder.

"Here, this might help matters." Kurt returned and set down a stand and then a very large, multi-level mouse cage. "Dost think you can put hand on your wee visitor?"

"Oh, it's wonderful!" she gasped, looking at it. Then she nodded and was back under the bed, Pikachu left to guard the mousecage.

There were a few calls and grunts, and then Jubee slowly pulled out, a glowing forcefeild cage surrounding Arnold the mouse.

"Shh, it's ok," she said gently, looking at him as he skirted around and squeaked. She gingerly took him to the cage, then opened the door and let him in. "Look, Arnold, now you have your own room too!"

She picked Pikachu up and looked at Kurt shyly. "Thank you Mr. McCoy."

"You are most welcome, Miss Lee." He smiled and watched as the mouse hid inside the pink ceramic hippo that had been home to the cage's previous residents.

"It's Jubee," she stuck out her tonuge and giggled. "Or Jubilee. Silly, I already said that."

His eyes twinkled. "And I am Kurt."

"Ok, ok," she hugged him. "I get it. Thank you, Kurt."

His brawny arms wrapped around her gently, and she would hear the very softest of rumbles that wasn't a growl or his belly....

"Just like Wolvie," she said softly, smiling, before she blinked and looked up. "Do you know where Wolvie's gone?"

"No." He lifted his eyebrows slightly. "I'd imagined him to be at Tom's or at Hell."

"He got a phone call and left. He hadn't even looked at my room properly," she sighed.
