Patchverse: New room

Jubilee walked to and fro, staring at her newly refurbished, very pink, very comfortable room.

Her face portrayed how much these objects meant to her, and she couldn't stop exploring her room, holding the Pikachu plushie while she did, happily touching things. She paused when she sensed something tiny nearby, and got down on her hands and knees.

She peeked under the bed, then giggled when she saw a small brown mouse exploring the cavern.

"Hi there," she said, reaching a hand out to it. The mouse stirred, then turned and peered at her, and she grinned.

"Facing something so alien and disturbing that it frightens him, and in his fear he's losing his ability to think rationally. He knows that you are capable, but the sight of you sustaining damage would drive him over the edge right now." The purr stopped.

"I wouldn't... and even if I did I could hide it," she whispered, looking down. This wasn't right. Her Wolvie was in danger and, as any other Jubes should, she needed to go to him and help.

"You've not been here long," he said gently. "Let him become used to you and assured of you. I promise you'll accompany him nearly everywhere."

She looked down, then picked up her Pikachu and hugged him again. "Promise?"

"I've known my grandfather since I was but a lad, and his twin sister for longer." His golden eyes smiled down at her. "As far as I know him I can promise."

She looked down and hugged Pikachu closer. "Anything that can help Wolvie faster?" she asked softly.

"I have yet to see aught work faster than the answer to a prayer," he assured her, then cocked his head and listened to her more closely, checking to see what her running sounds sounded like.

"Didn't work for daddy. He prayed for my little brother all the time, but he wasn't half finished when they broke him," she said, sighing and burying her face in Pikachu's fur.
