Ramada stared into the cup of brown beverage that was most definitely not coffee, and then looked over at her small friend, wondering how best to delicately phrase that the stuff tasted like crap and wasn't there anything else to drink. 

She could find no euphemism that was guaranteed not to set Mykayla off (truth be told she was a bit grumpy, and Ramada couldn't blame her given the condition she was in), and so instead turned to her small friend and said:

"Do they put sugar in this?"

"It's what I'm here for." She balanced herself on the side of the pool, ready to jump in or stay out or whatever was required.

Mykayla turned her head to give her a distracted smile. "Come on in, the water's warm, and the butt nipper fish isn't here today."

"I'm glad," added Scrat. He had little patience with the overly curious fish.

She snickered as she eased herself into the pool. Mykayla was right; the water was warm and pleasant.

"Tell me where to go and I'll go there," she said. She didn't want to impede or otherwise make the couple uncomfortable.

"Here," said Scrat. "Support her head. Just let the kit float."

Mykayla chuckled softly, then closed her eyes as another contraction started. -God... I bind this all to Your will. Again. Please let what You want be what happens here....- "Owww."

"Uh huh." She did as she was instructed, holding her friend's head and neck in her hands.

"It's go time, huh?" she whispered to Mykayla.

"All systems go." Her heartsister tried to smile through the pain. "I promise I won't twist your arm this time."

"I would hope so," she murmured, an easy grin on her face. "Just focus and you'll do fine."

"Yes." She swallowed, then screwed up her face with concentration. "If I can't... can't feel my legs, why does this hurt?"

"Easy, my soul." Scrat gently rubbed her back again, a comforting hand on her belly. "It won't be long."

"Partly because you expect that it will," Ramada said quietly. "So try not to think about it."

"No... I don't!" she protested, then took a deep breath and suddenly let out a little chuckle.

"See?" Ramada laughed softly as well. "Just need to find the silver lining."

"He says everything's going to be alright." Mykayla took another dee breath and relaxed, then smiled up at her husband.

Another chuckle left Ramada, and she tilted her head to look into her friend's eyes. "Well, even I knew that."

She then looked up at Scrat. "If you want to take over here... just say the word." Where she was was probably a more appropriate spot for him to be.
