Josh's Reality: STAR Labs, Gordon Family Compound: Invitations

Lar--who'd been spending much of his time exploring various portions of the multiverse--arrived outside the complex, having teleported into the universe high in orbit.  He wasn't quite sure how one got a message across multiversal lines, but Josh somehow had.  He'd asked Lar to come celebrate, but not specified what.

Still, he was always happy to come see a friend.  His feet touched down on the ground with barely a sound.

It took her a little while, but she finally let go and straightened to wipe at her eyes. "Fergi' me."

Josh bit his lip and frowned, feeling like a heel.

"Nothing to forgive, far as I'm concerned. Accidents happen."

She nodded and rubbed her cheeks, which were red from embarrassment, then patted Josh on the arm to let him know that he could quit fussing.

"Er... how are going to get there now?" Lar asked. He considered and waggled a finger skyward, as if to ask if they should just fly.

"The next bus comes in half an hour." He looked up and considered himself, but then shook his head and once more subvocalized. "Jaime's never been in the air. We'll be okay."

Jaime, for her part, sighed and looked around a trifle forlornly, feeling bad for causing the others to miss the bus.

"Oh," he replied, using the same trick. "All right, I guess.".

Louder, he added, while putting a reassuring hand on Jamie's shoulder, "It's all right. Really. I'm no stranger to waiting."

She looked up at him and tried to smile, then tsked and patted a smoking spot on his sleeve.

And Josh chuckled.

He blushed. "Went a little fast there, didn't I?"

"A wee." She chuckled herself, then gave his arm a hug and looked up at Josh before leading Lar and the others back to the bus stop.

Lar followed, chuckling slightly to himself. He was going to have to be more careful about pulling super-stunts like that when not in "costume."
