Josh's Reality: STAR Labs, Gordon Family Compound: Invitations

Lar--who'd been spending much of his time exploring various portions of the multiverse--arrived outside the complex, having teleported into the universe high in orbit.  He wasn't quite sure how one got a message across multiversal lines, but Josh somehow had.  He'd asked Lar to come celebrate, but not specified what.

Still, he was always happy to come see a friend.  His feet touched down on the ground with barely a sound.

She chuckled at him, then looked at Josh and raised her eyebrows. "Och, nae menu fer ye?"

"No." He grinned. "I know what I'm having."

Lar studied the menu and shook his head. "It's all Durlan to me. What do you recommend?"

"The jumbo steak and whole lobster." Josh grinned.

"Hmmm?" Jaime looked at the pictures on her menu, mentally trying to sound out words, then shoved it away and nodded. "I dinnae care fer beef, but that lobster has a sound tae it that I like."

"Well, I'll take your recommendation," he replied.

"And a nice little steak for me." Jenny shook her head. "Along with some salad and other vegetables, and maybe some rice pilaf."

"Yer not makin' me guilty," said Jaime roguishly. "I was made fer eatin' meat, 'n I intend tae do so."

"No reason not to," he agreed.

The waitress returned as the music grew a little louder, filling their glasses carefully and then setting the pitcher down before asking if they knew what they wanted.

It might not be right on this version of Earth, but from his experience on others, Lar will defer to the time honored tradition of ladies first.

Josh too was looking at the girls, and after a bit of looking at one another Jenny gave her order, and then Jaime did.

Josh grinned and looked to Lar.

"Think I'm gonna try the jumbo steak and whole lobster," Lar said.

"And I know what you want." The waitress shook her head at Josh. "No one wants anything to drink other than water?"
