Josh's Reality: STAR Labs, Gordon Family Compound: Invitations

Lar--who'd been spending much of his time exploring various portions of the multiverse--arrived outside the complex, having teleported into the universe high in orbit.  He wasn't quite sure how one got a message across multiversal lines, but Josh somehow had.  He'd asked Lar to come celebrate, but not specified what.

Still, he was always happy to come see a friend.  His feet touched down on the ground with barely a sound.

He smiled, then winked. "Hey, I've got a super-stomach. I can handle it."

"Two bottomless pits." Her eyes twinkled as Josh blushed.

Lar laughed. "What can I say?"

She grinned, then poked her husband. "Show him the picture."

"Oh right." Josh looked at his friend to see if he was interested.

"Hmmm?" Lar asked. "Let me see..."

Josh grinned widely and pulled out his computer pad, then called up the picture in question.

"There he is." He handed it to Lar.

There were two babies in the picture, healthy looking infants with soft black curls and darkish skin. The one on the right had eyes that promised to become dark, while the one on the left bore bright blue eyes with a thin red ring around the iris.

"Adorable," he said.

"The little guy on the left is my cousin John." Josh leaned on his fist and absently doodled on the glass-topped tablecloth with his finger.

"Och, the ither one yer mum is a'feedin'?" Jaime leaned over to look.

"Um... yeah." He blushed.

Lar laughed. "I think you're embarassing him, Jamie."

She snorted. "Nothin' embarrassin' 'bout a bairn at the breast."

Josh hid his face.

Jenny shook her head and patted his back. "It's called good manners, Jai."

Lar was actually blushing a bit too. This conversation had definitely ventured into the realm of too much information for him.

Jaime looked back and forth between the boys and blushed herself. "But Logan hasnae ivver mentioned it as wrong tae speak 'o sich things."

"Logan's not exactly the most... um... refined of people," said Jenny.

"Och. Fergi' me." Jaime sighed.

"Don't worry about it," Lar said. "I still haven't figured out everything about..." He stopped, opting not to go with "Earth" and simply saying, "local customs."
