Josh's Reality: STAR Labs, Gordon Family Compound: Invitations

Lar--who'd been spending much of his time exploring various portions of the multiverse--arrived outside the complex, having teleported into the universe high in orbit.  He wasn't quite sure how one got a message across multiversal lines, but Josh somehow had.  He'd asked Lar to come celebrate, but not specified what.

Still, he was always happy to come see a friend.  His feet touched down on the ground with barely a sound.

The waitress grinned and gave him the plate of steak and lobster, then gave the girls their plates before hurrying back to the kitchen.

Josh quirked an eyebrow and looked good-naturedly woeful, then nearly bounced as his was brought.

"Okay, I know my way around cuts of meat... but how exactly do you eat a lobster?" Lar asked, quietly.

Jaime looked up from silently asking a blessing on her meal, then turned her own lobster to face her and tied on her bib before twisting off a claw. "Like this." She sucked the juice out of it and then got it with the cracker.

"Ouch," said Josh absently as he pinched his finger with his cracker.

Lar followed suit, trying a bite of lobster.

"Wow. That's... that's great."

"Try it with some butter." Josh pointed, then hastily licked said condiment off the side of his hand before it could run down his arm.

Laar did as he was asked, and smiled with satisfaction. "Been to a lot of plane--places, but there's nothing quite like local food."

"So long as it isnae somethin' like gah," murmured Jaime as Josh grinned.

"Don't think I've heard of that before."

She paused and considered telling him about it, but then shuddered and looked up at him. "Ye really dinnae want to, either."

He shrugged, taking a few more bites of his food. "So anyone, I've actually built myself a house in one of the... places, I've visited."

"Sweet," said Josh as he cut a piece of steak. "What's it like?"

"It's in Antarctica, actually. I modeled it after Clark's Fortress. I've already got a bunch of mementos stored there, and a pet I got from a vending machine."
