Josh's Reality: STAR Labs, Gordon Family Compound: Invitations

Lar--who'd been spending much of his time exploring various portions of the multiverse--arrived outside the complex, having teleported into the universe high in orbit.  He wasn't quite sure how one got a message across multiversal lines, but Josh somehow had.  He'd asked Lar to come celebrate, but not specified what.

Still, he was always happy to come see a friend.  His feet touched down on the ground with barely a sound.

"Sounds about right so far," he said. He stopped for a moment, as he tried to remember what Clark has once told Lois Lane... Ah yes. "I didn't just fall off the turnip truck, you know."

"D'ye ken what a turnip truck is?" Jaime tilted her head up to flash him a smile just twinkling with tease.

"It's... it's a truck of some kind, made out of turnips. Whatever they are. Right?"

The look in his eyes suggested he was kidding.

"Och! Ye dinnae ken what turnips are! Pur laddie!" Her eyes glistened with mock tears. "We maun fix that."

Josh just put a hand over his mouth and watched.

"Some kind of fish, right?"

She laughed, then thought of turnips swimming around in the sea and laughed harder. "Och!"

Jenny scooped up a last spoonful of what looked like mashed potato on her plate and offered it to him.

He took the bite, chewed thoughtfully, swallowed, then smiled. "That was good."
