Patchverse: Night trips

Jubee giggled and Arnold explored her shoulder, nose twitching as he moved. Jubee herself had a large cardboard box of parts she'd found in a dump, playing with the tools she'd bought to try making things without her own hardware. The mess sat on newspapers and stretched over a good five-foot square area of her bedroom floor, beyond which the room was its usual pristine self.

So far she'd managed to make a small assortment of action heros, all standing almost a foot high and made out of various gadgets and parts, some with bent metal plating. She beamed and looked at Pikachu, who had his own small wire-made Arnold Jr. sitting on top of his head.

She looked up, sensing it was getting late. She smiled and wondered if Wolvie wanted her to go with him again to the basement bar they'd been visiting the past four nights.

She blinked and looked around, then hid behind Logan, her jewelery falling still and her clothes instantly looking more worn and beaten, the fringes and rips more pronounced and old. She peeked out from behind her Wolvie. "This place is so neat," she smiled.

"S'alright." He slid into the round booth that the waitress had led them to, then ordered the largest steak and a pot of coffee.

"Indeed." Kurt slid to the middle, leaving the other opening free for those who were going to dance later. "And I'll have the same, if you please, Crystal."

Jubilee hurried to snuggle into his side. "Who's playing?" she asked eagerly. "What kind of music? Are they good? Are they cool?"

He let her sit beside him on the outside- something that he'd never allowed anyone else to do in the memory of anyone there- and shrugged. "They call 'em the Lovely Dictators, 'n it ain't my style, but the words're good."

The waitress finished taking K'tara and Matt's orders and turned to Jubilee.

She lay her head on his chest and grinned. "Cool! I know them, they're awesome! Roy's the best!"

Then she looked at the waitress. "No thanks, I'm all good," she said politely, grinning. "When's the band coming on?"
