"This... this is not funny."

With a voice devoid of accent Sal found herself suddenly not at home, returning to her living room after a bathroom break while watching reruns of Avatar: The Last Airbender. If the place had been a nexus or something she was more familiar with she would have been perfectly okay with the entire situation.

Except that this was not a room, not a nexus, and not a cafe. It was a cave. She wasn't a fan of caves. They were gross and earthy and just... well... gross. This cave wasn't drippy or anything, but she still didn't like it. She growled to herself and walked awhile until she found a large French door. Which was weird in and of itself. She wrenched it open and found her feet on green grass.

"Where the hell am I?" She looked around at the enormous valley spread out around her.

This is surreal...

"Oh." She shrugged. "Well, I did almost pass out a few minutes ago. But I'm fine now. Ye shoulda been 'round when Fi there was dealin' th' awkward questions."

An impish grin fell over her face.

"Awkvard... qvestions?" he said slowly.

Now she was laughing outright.

"I'll tell ye later. So lissen, Fi, are ye gonna make me sit here all day 'r what?"

"I'll be right there." He looked up with a smile, then injected Norton with a sedative and watched him pass out. For some reason that always amused him. "Hey, I just got an ultrasound thing that looks at babies before they're born...."

"Leave her alone," said Kal sternly.

"Oh, snap, that's what I forgot about," Sal said, pursing her lips thoughtfully.

"Vhat's that, meine Liebe?" Kurt looked down at her quizzically.

She checked her watch. "I was supposed to be at the doctor's ten minutes ago. Remember? Today was the day we were going to find out her affinity."

"Ach! Ve could still make it...." He tensed to teleport.

"Could I see that with my ultrasound machine?" asked Fi hopefully.

"Not entirely," Sal said evenly, "but do ye have access t' a replicator?"

She knew what went into the test, it was simply a non-invasive blood test, with the results noticeable in minutes - analogous to methods used to determine blood type in Muggles.

"Now is as good a place as any," she said with a shrug, taking Kurt's hand and patting the back of it affectionately. "Besides, this's comfortable."
