"This... this is not funny."

With a voice devoid of accent Sal found herself suddenly not at home, returning to her living room after a bathroom break while watching reruns of Avatar: The Last Airbender. If the place had been a nexus or something she was more familiar with she would have been perfectly okay with the entire situation.

Except that this was not a room, not a nexus, and not a cafe. It was a cave. She wasn't a fan of caves. They were gross and earthy and just... well... gross. This cave wasn't drippy or anything, but she still didn't like it. She growled to herself and walked awhile until she found a large French door. Which was weird in and of itself. She wrenched it open and found her feet on green grass.

"Where the hell am I?" She looked around at the enormous valley spread out around her.

This is surreal...

Fi hopped into action and quickly heated a blanket, which he wrapped around Sal's shoulders before handing Kurt the screen and putting the microphone to Sal's belly.

It helped, but the general feeling of being cold still remained. Nonetheless, she craned her neck as she tried to get a look at the screen.

Kurt angled it so that she could see, putting his face next to hers and making a small sound of awe as a steady thumping sound came from a tiny speaker on the corner of it.

She reached for his hand and squeezed. "Now that right there? That's awesome."

"Ja..." he breathed, then gasped again as the curve of a tiny back appeared, and a little elbow seemed to bump them as a thud came from the speaker.

Sal squinted at the screen. "Not much to see, though, is there?"

A white smudge, and look! Another white smudge. But that was her daughter in there, so she too watched, quietly amazed.

"You can adjust the focus," said Fi. "It's made to try and help you actually see somebody."

"She has a tail," said Kurt suddenly.

Sal blinked. "Really?"

"Ja, see? Here's her back." He pointed, then traced one line with a thick finger. "Und there's her tail."

She grinned. "Two to one she's as gorgeous as you are."
