Dark Angelverse: On the Hunt

Laka blinked as she and her father suddenly appeared in the busy streets of Washington. Laka blinked, then tugged at her strange, Earth-like clothes. She'd chosen baggy leggings and a short sleeved shirt that almost reached her knees, which were ideal for hiding her blaster and vibroblade. On her wrist she wore a sheild, but it had cloth wrapped over it.

Dressed in jeans and a trenchcoat her father stood by her side, looking out through her visors and frowning. He didn't like it, being alone with Laka in a strange enviornment with only an escape through a nexus portal to rely on. And he didn't even know where to look for the boy who's brother had been mindwiped into forgetting him. He sighed, then looked around. They'd just asked to be sent to Earnest, but he was nowhere in sight.

"Stay on your guard," he muttered to Laka, who nodded once, sharp eyes glancing through the crowds.

Earnest took the jacket as Annie gave it to him, then watched as she and the old man climbed out of sight before sighing and hiding his face on Laka's hair.

That got a slightly weary grin, but then he lifted his head and listened as the sound of a distant voice reached his ears.

Laka frowned and pulled away, She wasn't sure what was going on in his head, but he looked less than alright to her.

She frowned and fixed him with her most peircing stare.

Earnest fidgeted and bit at his thumbnail, then walked over and looked up the ladder before unconsciously bonking his head on it.

"Gotta wait for the old man." He took a deep breath and shivered slightly, though he was grinning from the kiss.
