"The last time I did this," Jeimu grunts as she walks up to the compound gate with bags and boxes in hand, "I was fresh from space and couldn't walk. Now I really should be thinking of the baby, but I'm sure she's tough..."

She looks over her shoulder at Jav and Vic, who are managing the several casserole dishes and tinfoil-covered pans of food she's also brought along rather well.

"Hey!" she calls out. "My hands are full, I can't ring the doorbell!"

Of course she could do it telekinetically, but she's feeling lazy.

He pulls off his bunny hat and gives it to her, then pushes away and backs off. "I know how."

His optics dim with concentration. "Wanna be big. I want to be big...argh!"

There's a grinding and twisting sound, and a blurring.

She places the bunny hat on her head and grimaces. That noise doesn't sound healthy, but...

She looks up.

"Oh."

Optimus is on his knees, leaning on one hand as the other presses to his damaged optic. But at her voice he stirs. "Jeimu...."

And Ratchet stares with amazement from the back door, where he'd come in response to the sounds.

She steps forward and puts a hand on his knee. "We really should fix your eyeball," she says softly.

He creaks slightly as he turns his head to look down at her, and then one big hand is very gently scooping her up and holding her close in a hug. "Thank you."

She looks at him strangely. He looks a right mess, scarred extensively with his eyeball missing.

"But I didn't fix you yet..."

"For being my friend." He pulls himself shakily to his feet and looks at Ratchet, who looks back in silence.
