Midnight has passed, and a light snow is fluffing down on the castle battlements and piling up in soft drifts in the corners of the courtyard. Voices come distantly from within the castle. All is still otherwise.

And then a figure materializes on the wall. A giant of a man with scaly skin and a horned brow, he turns his head as though listening, his long tail sweeping away the snow.

Then he crouches and waits to be noticed.

-Ah.- Those golden eyes never leave her face. -I had stayed out in vacuum too long while repairing a satellite. A blind teleport took me to the roof of Zeeters. Chiyoko found me and got me breathing again.-

Elisa may be the second in command of the clan as thus the highest ranked female, but there's little doubt that Katana is the mama bear of the Clan. Mess with any of the others, be they her own children, or simply the younger Clan members, are you'll face her full fury.

"I find that answer satisfactory," she says, after a moment. "You will forgive me, if my suspicious have caused offense."

One broad shoulder lifts in a slight shrug. -I know why you're asking.-

She nods slightly. "Still, as I said before, it is good to see her making friends."

-It still seems strange to think of her as someone who doesn't,- he admits. -I tried to persuade her to stay away from me at first, and she was too kind to listen.-

"Perceptions can be a strange thing, sometimes. She does tend to get on better with the younger members of our Clan."

-Duty and honor and Clan are very important to her.- He rumbles softly and looks into his teacup. -She's devoted her life to them.-

Katana sips her tea and nods her agreement. "I do not disagree. She does, however, seem to possess a certain lack of respect for authority."

"Fair enough. Perhaps I am to quick to make judgments."

Satisfied with this, Katana sips her tea for a moment. "Forgive me. Small talk is not always my strong suit."
