World Outside Time: Four days later: Wedding

Firecracker watched as Sir James and Anmut exchanged rings, her fingers twitching with the urge to pet the hunter green velvet tunic that Sir James wore with black pants and a brown cloak with red satin lining. Next to him, Anmut wore a long strip of white satin wrapped around her body to make something that wasn't quite a dress but looked something like one with sideslits.

The funny coat and collar bowed, then clapped invisable hands together and turned to a page in the big Book which Sir James and Anmut wrote in. Firecracker's mama wrote in it next, and then everyone turned to her.

"Yer turn, lass," rumbled Sir James, smiling.

Firecracker blinked in alarm. "But I can't write."

"Yeah," she took her food and comntemplated for a moment, then looked at them, blurting before she could stop herself. "Do I have to make up with him or be a horrible person now?"

"Methinks that's up to you." Sir James cut a peice of crackling crispy rind off the roast and offered it to her.

She smiled and accepted, and Logan chuckled.

"N' if you want help dumpin' 'im you talk ta me."

"Ok," she said, then looked at them, grinning. "Let's eat."

Sir James chuckled and set to, keeping his mind on the here and now and away from the parting to come.
