World Outside Time: Four days later: Wedding

Firecracker watched as Sir James and Anmut exchanged rings, her fingers twitching with the urge to pet the hunter green velvet tunic that Sir James wore with black pants and a brown cloak with red satin lining. Next to him, Anmut wore a long strip of white satin wrapped around her body to make something that wasn't quite a dress but looked something like one with sideslits.

The funny coat and collar bowed, then clapped invisable hands together and turned to a page in the big Book which Sir James and Anmut wrote in. Firecracker's mama wrote in it next, and then everyone turned to her.

"Yer turn, lass," rumbled Sir James, smiling.

Firecracker blinked in alarm. "But I can't write."

"It's time for the cake..." Jubee started as she realized the last course was done. Excitement fluttered her and she started to get up, then paused and sat down, trying hard to be polite even though she was obviously bursting at the seems.

"CanIpleasegogetmywonderfullygreatcakeforyouguysnow?" she blurted.

"Accorse ye can, lass. Don't explode on us." Sir James chuckled. "The teacart's nae bringin' it then?"

"Butitneedstobeasurprise!" she gasped, and bolted from the room, returning a moment later with the teacart, a very big screen in front of it.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Jubee still looked hyper. "I give you my celebration cake!!!"

The lifted off the screen to reveal a three-layered cake, looking like the traditional wedding cake but for two well sculpted figurines on the top, both mostly resembling Sir Logan and Amnut.

"Heppy wedding day!"

Sir James blinked at the colour combination, but kept his smile firmly in place. "Wonderful. And ye made it all yerself?"

"Well, the kitchen cooks helped me a lot teaching me, I mean, I've never made a good cake before, so we made this one because it was really like, traditional, you know? But the light pink flowers looked really boring and you guys are so special I decided to make them better and like, here they are," she grinned. "Oh, and the figurines are made of polished wood. Those I made myself."

"Lovely," said Sir James, beaming and subvocalizing to Anmut that the cake smelled edible. "So, ye got a special knife fer the cuttin'? Or do we just use the usual bloke?"

"I don't know, are there special knives?" she blinked.

"Was a custom fer awhile t' have one all decorated," said the ancient warrior.

"Oh, I...." he face fell and she bit her lip, then started as a tray opened up and out popped a richly decorated cake knife.

"Oh!" she grinned. "Hey, look, is this one?"

"Looks like it." Sir James got to his feet and took Anmut's hand to lead her over to the cart.
