Gargoyles 'verse: Maza Apartment: Gwen Visits Franklin

With a gentle whoosh, Guinevere landed gently on the terrace outside the Maza apartment in the other Gargoyle universe.  She seemed to be finding herself here more and more of late, spending time with Franklin.  It wasn't that she was unhappy in the other universe, far from it.  She had her friends, Jubilee especially, but here..  free from the struggles of the other universe, free from the hatred...  it was easier. 

And as accepted as she had become, she could not help but still feel a little less than at ease, even in the best of times.  It was awkward around Angela, and sometimes still painful to watch Goliath. 

Here, she had none of that.

She wrapped gently to see if anyone was home.

Franklin starts to reply, but then starts and rumbles a chuckle as Stevie abruptly raspberries and sprays food. "Whoops."

He reaches for the facecloth that Elisa hands him.

Gwen looks between Franklin, Steve, and the mess, and then bursts out laughing.

He grins, enjoying her laughter as Stevie also giggles and flails, making his cleanup a little more difficult. Elisa is chuckling behind them as she puts a serious dent in the wrap pile.

Gwen smiles, but there's a sudden shift toward more seriousness. "I have a... favor to ask, if I may."

He sobers too, responsive as ever to her moods. "What is it?"

"Oo?" asks Stevie, his baby eyebrows going up.

She pauses, hesitant, but presses on. "I would... like to move to this universe, at least, for a time. As hard as everyone tries, and I have made dear friends... I just am not as comfortable there, as I am when I am here, with you."

His eyes widen, and then he turns to look at Elisa.

"We'll have to talk it over with the Clan," said the dark-haired woman, her brows lifted with surprise. "Are you sure, Gwen?"

She nods. "I am. As Franklin and I have grown closer, I have realized that my place is here."

Elisa grins, aware that Franklin's blushing invisibly. Stevie just watches everyone's faces and sucks on his fist.

He blinks and blushes a little more, his arms tightening around her slightly. He's surprised and pleased... and for once totally unsure of what to say.
