Gargoyles 'verse: Maza Apartment: Gwen Visits Franklin

With a gentle whoosh, Guinevere landed gently on the terrace outside the Maza apartment in the other Gargoyle universe.  She seemed to be finding herself here more and more of late, spending time with Franklin.  It wasn't that she was unhappy in the other universe, far from it.  She had her friends, Jubilee especially, but here..  free from the struggles of the other universe, free from the hatred...  it was easier. 

And as accepted as she had become, she could not help but still feel a little less than at ease, even in the best of times.  It was awkward around Angela, and sometimes still painful to watch Goliath. 

Here, she had none of that.

She wrapped gently to see if anyone was home.

"Mmmhmm," he says sheepishly, laying his cheek against her hair and rocking she and Stevie slightly. "But... I'm happy."

"Good," she says.

Stevie looks up at them, then gives a little 'ppththtt' for attention.

"Oh?" Gwen says as she looks down at him. "Are you sure?"

He cuts her a huge grin and coos softly, then looks at his big brother and flails gleefully as Franklin chuckles.

She smiles, albeit a bit confusedly. Babies aren't something she's had much experience with.

"He says that he is. And that he really likes you," translates Franklin, then starts as his stomach growls.

This last makes Stevie give a belly laugh.

"Well," she says, moving her fingers to tickle at his tummy, "I think that I like him too."

Franklin beams, then reaches over for his wrap and offers Gwen a bite of it before he has one himself.

Gwen takes the wrap and takes a bite. "Mmm. This is good."

"Yes." He leans down and takes a bite himself, then looks over his shoulder at Elisa as she cracks up.

"Frank the sharsies monster strikes again," says his stepmother, still chuckling.

Gwen chuckles as well. "You are so funny, Franklin."

He just gives his warm, good-natured grin and snuggles a bit, quite content with where he is and what's going on.

"Are you going to the precinct after dinner?" asks Elisa, helping herself to another wrap.

Gwen gives the baby in her arms another little smile. Maybe things are finally going right for her.
