A darn good place to hunt and fish

Logan looks around as they appear on the bank of a wide, tree-shadowed river, his senses reaching out to find any trace of danger that may be lurking nearby. Feeling content that there was none, he looked at the two kids clinging to him and listening to the silence all around them and chuckled. "Y'kin let go now."

Alec lets go and looks around them at everything that was there. The boy completely awe struck with it all because Seattle didn't have this stuff in it.

Logan gently pries Uzulee off of him, then shakes his head as she abruptly shifts to her furry blue halfway form. "Nothin's gonna hurt ya, kid. Lookit Alec 'n 'is cat, do they look scared?"

Uzulee looks, then shifts the rest of the way and turns into a petite blue sabertooth with big brown eyes.

Logan facepalms.

"Where are we?" Alec asks still looking around the place.

"It don't have a name." Logan wanders down the river bank and hunkers to look into the shallows. "Just a place Charlie worked on once." His hand darts into the water and comes up with a fat freshwater lobster. "Ya hungry?"

"Yeah." Alec states with a bright smile.

Logan waves him over and hands it to him. "Y'kin either twist the head off or just bite it on the back'a the head. Don't eat the black thing, 'n don't ferget t' suck all the juice outta the head if ya don't eat it." He glances around to see where Uzulee is, then moves a little further down and resumes hunting.

Right... telling this to a guy that's Manticore's top assassin. He twists the head clean off of it and watches Wolvie while he hunts.

Logan finds another lobster and calls Uzulee over to take it, which she does with purring and face rubs, then discovers freshwater mussels and settles himself down to eat as many as he can hold right out of the shell.

Alec sits and eats his lobster feeding bits of it to the Alec kitty.

Logan glances over at the kid as he eats, then looks up as Uzulee splashes into the water like the giant helpless kitten that she is. "Don't scare off all the fish, kid."

He looks over at Logan a moment having felt the man's eyes on him before going back to eating. Then his eyes dilate as he hears something off in the distance, letting him see through cat's eyes rather than human eyes.

Logan shakes his head at Uzulee as she lays down in the shallows and starts playing with a big catfish that was dumb enough to nearly beach itself because of her splashing. Then he notes Alec's alertness and turns that way himself for a moment before returning to the mussels.

"Big bird." Alec states simply.

"Yeah?" He examins a pearl and sticks it in his chest pocket.

"Yeah." He states pointing it out. And unless you've got his eyesight or VERY keen eyesight you wouldn't see it just yet.

Logan sees it and watches it for a moment before he offers the kid a mussel. "There's even bigger birds 'round here. Taller'n me."

Yeah, so that doesn't take much....

"Taller than you?" He asks canting his head to the side and then taking the offered mussel.

"Yup. Biggest ones're called Elephant Birds." Logan sees an even bigger catfish than the one Uzulee's got and considers it.

"That's a big bird." Alec states simply before letting his eyes roam around the place a bit more with those cat eyes rather than human.

"Yup."

Uzulee gets a catfish spike in the nose and whimperes, then gets up and goes to Alec to ask for sympathy, her stubby tail twitching as she licks the already healed owwie.

And Alec pets her and nuzzles her when she goes to him.

She purrs and gently headbutts him, then nuzzles back before looking up at the bird. (What?)

"What do you mean what?" He asks her before looking up towards the bird.

(What's that?) She looks down and gives kittyAlec a quick cheekrub, then looks back at the bird.

"It's a bird of some kind." Alec states nuzzling kittyAlec.
