Void-verse. Where Scourge is. Looking for a hand.

Ratchet looks around as he appears in the new reality, feeling the mech that he's searching for, but not seeing him yet. The free spark's usually cheerful face shows deep concern today. He knows this is a long shot gamble, but he can't shake the hunch that Scourge might be able to help him.

He tilts his head and listens. Where is Scourge?

Oh, low blow. Scourge shudders a bit, but he pauses in his back-stepping. "Auspex is different," he says with narrowed, suspicious optics. "Ask her. Ask an Autobot. Don't ask me and don't ask Cyclonus."

"Auspex is busy with someone else who needs her. And no Autobot would be able to understand this. Most Decepticons wouldn't." He looks away, though he's still aware of Scourge and what he's doing. "She's been tortured. I don't even understand. That's why I need help."

"Then take her to Auspex. Put her to sleep and let her wait or something, I don't...I can't do that for her." He tenses, watching Ratchet carefully and wishing this didn't hurt. "I can't do what she does. I just move boxes."

"I can't get near her," repeats Ratchet patiently, but then pauses and listens to something Scourge can't hear for a moment.

Then he shakes his head and fades. "And her mate's having a fit. I don't need you to fix her. Just find her. She's had her wires stripped so many times that she's scared of other 'bots. It didn't show when she was alive and had guns, but now she's helpless and her spark's so messed up it isn't funny."

"And you'll...do what to her?" Scourge isn't completely convinced, but he's at least willing to listen now. He can sympathize.

"If she'll let me I'll bring her back to her mate so that she can ground herself. But at the least I'll listen to her and try to ease some of the spark pain she's in." Ratchet's concern shows very clearly now on his faceplate. "I'm not sure she even remembers who she is, or realizes that she's dead."

"So she's another ghost. Like you." Scourge is starting to get fed up with ghosts and his tone now is almost resigned. "Go talk to Soundwave, or Shockwave if you can get him to believe in you. I haven't seen any ghosts."

"Not like me. Her time isn't up. And like I said, she's not in this reality. The Shockwave she knows and the one I know are both dead, and she wouldn't trust them anyway. And her Soundwave's too busy trying to run the Decepticon army without her to be able to get away." He sighs. "She's fading, and if someone doesn't help her she'll be lost and drifting for the rest of time."

Now Scourge is confused. "Then why do you need me? Why are you here at all?"
