MamaBee's Verse: Nellis AF Base: Foolhardy Femmes ((Happens after Nova Thread))

Arcee's engines roared as she shot into the air, going straight up and crying out gleefully as she landed roughly, spinning out and laughing maniacally as she spun in circles. //Seriously, you can't hope to beat that airtime, Bee,// she crowed, slowing for a moment before wobbling and flopping over.

Up by the base Forge watched them, blinking and arching an eyebrow and shaking his head as the two roared around the desert, acting like fresh recruits and the tomboys they still were at heart.

Bumblebee retreats, letting Jazz put his arms around her, though she barely hears the soft music that he played for her. Instead her optics go to the door, where Soundwave hovers with Screwloose in his arms and Waltz standing shyly at his shoulder.

She holds out her arms for her quiet third-sparked, thinking of the unknown new one that Ratchet was working even now to save.

-Sparkmaker,- she thought, holding Waltz close and unconciously leaning against Jazz. -God... please help them. Please forgive me for being such a glitch head. Please....-

Forge sat opposite the door, an arm around each sleeping son that leaned against him as he stared at the silver doors barring him from his sparkmate and unknown sparkling. There'd been no word, sound, or sign of what was going on, but he tried to think of it as a good thing. They were still alive if the doctor hadn't come out, or sent word, because that was how it went, wasn't it?

Bumblebee's slipped into a light recharge as the hours pass, her hand clenched on Jazz's and her body twitching slightly in reaction to the pain of her scrapes and dents. The silver mech holds her gently, his brown optics even darker with concern as he rests his cheek against her helm and holds she and Waltz tightly.

All three of them start as the repair bay doors open and Ratchet drags himself out wearily.

"How are they?" Ironhide turns from his pacing, his optics narrowed as he unconciously dares his best friend not to tell him.

Forge started, then got to his feet quickly, unable to find a voice even as his boys start away and take over interrogating for him.

"Is mom ok?"

"What about the sparkling?"

"Yeah, is that ok too?"

"You fixed 'em both, right Doc?"

"Can we see them?"

The yellow medic holds up a hand, asking for silence, though he catches Starforge's optic and gives him a terse but reassuring nod.

The twins went quiet, but at the medic's nod Forge's shoulders drooped and he let out a sigh of relief.

"Can I see 'em?" he asked, voice gruff with exhaustion.

"You can see Arcee. But you'll have to relay what you see to Startracker and Sunhunter. I don't want too many people tromping around in there till she's awake and alert."

"Awww," the boys pouted, but Starforge shook his head and went in past Ratchet. Inside he located Arcee quickly, finding her patched and whole once more, lying on a table and sound asleep. He pushed back a glitch in his throat, moving forward and putting his large hand over her slender fingers, then leaned down and kissed her forehead gingerly.

"She's going to be fine," says Dev softly from where she's standing near a side table. The white and black femme glances down at the life support unit in her hands then and turns away so that Starforge can't see her expression drop to frightened worry.

"Here." Ratchet gently takes it from her. "I'll get her into the bigger unit. You check on Columbia and have a break."

"What's that? Is that..." Starforge stopped, inner alarms going off slightly, and he leaned over to look, spark starting to ache again. "Is... is it alright?"

"She." Ratchet's voice is gruff with static. "And... I don't know."

The new spark looks like only a formless shimmer of barely visible light laying on the bottom of the life support unit. There is no movement; none of the usual sparkle.

"She..." Forge's vocalizer seized again and his hand tightened around Arcee's. "But... we... we didn't even know. 'Cee woulda never been drivin' like that if we'd known...."

"She hasn't coalesced yet, and shouldn't be separate from Arcee's spark at this point in her formation." Ratchet puts his hand over the clear top of the spark pot. "The crash probably knocked her loose."

"Can't y' put her back?" Forge's optics went huge. "Or... or give her a replacement support, or somethin'?"
