Sam's Earth: Detroit

Leeroy had learned his lesson.

Never, ever swap the memory cards on Jeimu's PlayStation 2. And don't hide the one that had all her DDR save games on it.

She'd sworn up a storm and then opened up a portal in the living room and kicked him through it. Now he was here, in a strange bar in a strange city. He didn't feel too concerned, Mu would bring him back when she decided he deserved to set foot on Newfoundland again.

But while he was here there was only one thing to do.

"What d'ye got fer beers, b'y?" he asked the bartender.

She bit her lip against the surge of gratefulness and relief that nearly made her cry. "Great! Do you have everything?"

"What's a Deece?" She got a drink of water from the sink, then went and held the door open with her butt.

Sam watched him walk out, absently trying to make her hair stop standing on end, then flipped her hood up and let the door close. It was still raining. She stood for a moment under the roof overhang and spun the room key around her finger.

-God, here I go again. Here we go. Guard us and guide us and bring us through this safely. I bind the whole trip and what happens on it and everyone we meet to your will.-

She continued for a few more moments, doing spiritual warfare before setting out to do the physical kind.

"Almost," she said absently, still praying and twirling the keyring. "I could've lent you a few guns."
